About
I build the bridge between small firms and the way people actually search now.
I'm Dan Montgomery. I'm a data engineer and I've spent my career making messy information legible to machines. Local Discovery AI is what happens when you point that skill at a problem most small practices don't yet know they have.
Why I built this
For most of my career I've worked in data — building the systems that take scattered, inconsistent information and turn it into something software can actually use and trust. That's the whole job: making sure a machine knows what it's looking at.
A while back I started noticing the same pattern everywhere I looked locally. People around Cedar Park had stopped Googling for a lawyer or a dentist the old way. They were asking ChatGPT or Perplexity, "who should I call?" — and getting back a short list of the same few names. The firms on that list weren't necessarily the best ones. They were the ones AI could read clearly.
The good local practices — the solo estate planning attorney with twenty years of careful work behind her — were simply invisible to these tools. Not because of anything they did wrong, but because nobody had ever made their information legible to a machine. That's a data problem. It's the exact problem I already know how to solve.
So I built Local Discovery AI to do one specific thing well: find out where a firm stands in AI search, explain it plainly, and close the gap. I'm not a marketing agency and I won't pretend to be. I read what the machines read, I tell you what they see, and I fix what's broken.
How I work
Evidence, not hype
Every claim in your audit is tied to something I can show you. If I can't prove it, I don't say it.
Audit before pitch
I never recommend a fix until I've shown you the gap it closes. Many firms stop at the audit, and that's fine.
Plain language
I'll explain what schema markup and citation consistency are in terms that actually mean something. No jargon to make it sound harder than it is.
Let's see where your firm stands.
